 Music

Down through the years the school has enjoyed a wealth of musical talent both as an exam subject and hobby. There has never been a shortage of  musical talent to add a little flare to a start of year mass or school concert. From classical to heavy metal the school has seen it all to a level that surpasses other schools. Many of these talents left us last year with some excellent bands.

“Simplicium”- Jordan McEvoy-Vocals, Wayne Connaughton-Guitar & Drums and Ros O’Meara-Drums & Guitars have had an extremely successful year recording a professional demo and are currently seeking a record deal.Their combination of heavy metal and and raw talent guarantee a promising career.

“Black Rose”: Malachy McNulty-Guitar,Vocals,Robert Quinn-Drums have played gigs on the local scene and farther afield and are fast carving a name for themselves as a superb classic rock band.

“Entropy”: Barry Reddin-Vocals, Cormac Fitzpatrick-Bass, John Tynan-Guitar, John Fahy-Drums, have had their ambitions dampened by the latest exams but insist that nothing will stop them in their bid to become the next U2. Their influences range from REM to The Pixies. The current dark horses of the local music scene-expect an extremely successful future.

“Abyss”: formerly “The Suicidal Teddybears”. Paul Quinn-Guitars, Vocals, John Quinn-Bass, John Tynan-Drums. Heavily influenced by Blink 182 and other such punk bands. The theme at their gigs is complete madness. The future looks bright-One to watch.
