The school in the courses outlined beneath provides the widest choice of subjets at Junior Cert. and Leaving Cert. level to higher level and provides the Transition Year programme, the Leaving Cert. Vocational Programme (L.C.V.P), a wide range of sporting and co-curricular activities, a Postaral Care Programme, Religious Education Programme and a full programme of career guidance, giving students access to the latest and most sophisticated national and international careers database.

We organise school tours, educational outings on a regular basis for all years from 1st. years to 6th. years.

St. Mary's CBS has an active Parents Council and is governed by a Board of Management,

Currently we are preparing for a new school catering for 850 boys on a new greenfield site on a new shared campus with a girl's secondary school of the same size.

This new school has been sanctioned by the Department of Eduaction and Science and will cater for all education needs of boys at second-level in Portlaoise and the surrounding areas well into this century.
